Parker is ONE Happy Camper | Vancouver, WA Baby Photographer

I haven't published a blog post in a while....like a real long while. Adjusting to life with a baby is hard and carving out time for work can be difficult. We managed to kept our little man alive for a whole year and we have finally settled into a routine and I have time to blog again! With my little man's first birthday having just passed, I thought that posting about his party would be perfect!

Parker is ONE happy camper! We held a camping themed birthday party for Parker at Lewisville Park in Battle Ground, WA. You're child only turns one once and I definitely went all out. I dedicated a lot of time to creating my vision and it turned out so well. I am still in awe that he is a year old already, nothing will ever prepare you for how fast time goes by when you have children but it was so magical to be surrounded by all of our friends and family to celebrate such an amazing milestone in our son's life.

My fantastic mother and father in law built this adorable tent for Parker's party

The center pieces took forever but they were so worth it, they turned out great

The smores sticks were a hit!

My mother in law has a cricket which I took full advantage of to make these awesome cupcake toppers

We gave headlamps and flash lights as favors, because adventure awaits!

The cricket was so useful!!

Our First Year of Marriage | Vancouver, WA Photographer

Earlier this month my husband and I celebrated our first year of marriage. Having reached this milestone has me reflecting on our life so far as Mr. And Mrs. Year one was equal parts crazy, difficult and amazing. We experienced every hurdle imaginable. A cancer scare each, fear over the health of our son during my already difficult pregnancy, becoming parents, having a newborn while my husband was working graveyards, a move, a job loss, financial burden. What some couples only experience in a lifetime we went through all in the span of a year. I look back at this past year and I can't help but be so proud of us. Every challenge brought us closer together, taught us how to be better communicators, gave us new ways to cope and taught us how to love each other even more deeply. We grew stronger as a couple and grew stronger as individuals. Despite all of what life had to  throw at us, we never let it rattle us. Even through all of the hardships, we have shared so many laughs, had so many adventures and had so many wonderful moments. I am even more certain now than I have ever been before that I have found my perfect match. The ying to my yang. We are not perfect but our love is unflappable, genuine and deep. I couldn't ask for a better partner by my side or better father for my son. Thank you sweetheart for being your awesome self and for making our first year such a memorable one.

Please enjoy a look into the first year of our marriage!

Cario is 2! | Vancouver, WA Child Photographer

I just love this little guy so much!! I have been following his journey since he was born and earlier this past March I got to help celebrate his SECOND BIRTHDAY! I can't believe he is two years already. He is definitely a busy little guy but he is always very sweet, very happy and extremely curious. I love that his momma wanted to do another cake smash session for his second birthday. We stuck with the same basic theme as his first birthday cake smash to really emphasis the change a year in this little man's life has made. You can go check out his first birthday session HERE. I am so excited to continue to watch Cario and his awesome family grow

Brody's Second Birthday | Vancouver, WA Child Photographer

This little man just turned 2 this past fall. That is a seriously awesome milestone but he has even bigger things coming his way, he is going to be a big brother! I spent a good chunk of time chatting with this little guys mom during his session about my pregnancy, their future plans for another one and all of the fun photos that would entail. Little did she know, she was just beginning to grow another little life in her. This is seriously one of the best parts of my job, I love getting to be there for moments like this. It is such an incredibly thing to get to be a small part of other people's journeys. When I found out this sweet couple was expecting their second, I was thrilled! The fact that we had just been chatting about it made it so much more special to find out, I was truly ecstatic for these two. I can't wait to meet their new little man and watch him and his big brother grow throughout the years to come.
Enjoy some of the highlights from Brody's second birthday session! <3

When you're a little man and your favorite thing is throwing rocks into the creek.

He was dying to run through some mud puddles so by the end of his session none of us could say no to him. I think it was totally worth it!

This Is My Happy Place | Vancouver, WA Newborn and Family Photographer

Seriously guys, this is my happy place!
I love my studio so much, every time I walk through the door I just feel like I am home. I am overwhelmed with the feeling that I am where I am suppose to be when I am in the studio, with my amazing clients, creating beautiful pieces of art.

My journey to this point has been a fun one with lots of changes along the way but I wouldn't change anything about it. So let's go back to the beginning; I moved into my first studio nearly 4 years ago. I met a wonderful friend of mine, Tara Thackeray Photography, back in summer of 2013. We instantly bonded over our love of photography. The next Spring I needed to rent a studio for a day and Tara was the first person that came to mind. After renting her studio for the day, she came to me with the idea of sharing her studio with her. I, of course, jumped at the opportunity. It was the perfect stepping stone for me, it gave me a place to grow and learn from.

A little look into the space I shared with Tara

After nearly 2 years in her studio, I was ready to move into something that I could call my own. I knew I didn't want to leave the Academy Building. It is in such an amazing location and the building itself is full of so much history and beauty, it was a no-brainer. After a little but of looking a small little suite on the second floor became available. It was definitely a little on the smaller size but it had everything else I was looking for and it was a great first step into a space that I had control over.

The second floor studio

After just less than a year in the suite I was ready to stretch out a little and have some more room. So my wonderful friend Missy Fant Photography decided to look at some other suites available in the building and BOY, did we luck out! We found this amazing suite on the first floor that was being converted from 1 large unit into 2 smaller units. The first time we looked at the suite it was still under heavy construction being renovated but immediately I could see all of the potential. In classic Brianna fashion, we jumped on it. We signed our lease that day. The next couple of weeks waiting for the suite to be ready for move in was torture but it was so worth it. Now after almost a year in 101-A, I am still as happy as I was that first day we got our keys and I rolled all over the floor in joy. We have settled in so well and the studio is everything I could have wanted or asked for.

Please enjoy this little look through the studio. If you want to see it for yourself, I would love to have you by! Contact me to set up your free photography consult today, I would enjoy nothing more than sharing a cup of coffee with you in my happy place!

Have you ever had a place that you just loved? A home, an apartment or a work space that made you feel at peace every time you were there? Or have you ever had to make any big decisions you have had to make in your life or maybe a business? Let's have a conversation about it, leave me a comment and tell me about your story!

Aryanna Newborn Session | Vancouver, WA Newborn Photographer

I really loved getting to know this couple through their maternity session so as you can imagine I was very excited to meet their little lady. Only 12 days new and Aryanna already has so much personality, she has the most expressive little face that will just tug at your heart strings. She also has the thickest head of hair, it is quite impressive. Even though Aryanna managed to pee all over my lap, I had such a fun afternoon hanging out with her and her parents. She got me in just the right spot and made it look like I peed myself and so we all got a good laugh out of that.
It was such an honor to be able to capture this precious time in her sweet life! Go check out her mom and dad's maternity session here;
